Casper is Six Today!!!

Good golly, I just get one birthday sorted and here is another quick on my heels!

Casper, our goodwill ambassador turns six today.

He was born under my friend Pauline's neighbour's porch with his sister Fluffy.  Pauline found homes for both kittens but sadly after nine months Casper was returned, luckily for us that is when I met him and instantly fell in love.....

Casper today
Some people think that a deaf cat is a special needs cat, but to us Casper is just plain special.  He has a wonderfully gentle nature, is the loving big brother to all the boys here and every day with him is a delight!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL BOY!!!!

Kip's Belated Birthday

Hello Friends,

May 1, 2013 was our Kip's 2nd birthday and I totally forgot (feeling like a terrible mum).  Kip has brought nothing but joy since he came to live with us in November 2011 from Chrystal's rescue in America.

Here are a few of my favourite pictures of our gentle house panther....

Happy Valentine's Day

My dear friends Cloony and Neytiri asked me to be their special Valentine this year

I was very touched and answered with a resounding YES!!!!!

Tiri also made this beautiful Valentine for her special mancat Archie...he blushed and rushed straight over to see her :-)

Happy Valentine's Day, I hope everyone enjoys this day of love !!!

Friday fun

Can you guess where this little sign resides in my house? I'll give you a hint...

I became tired of people entering my bathroom where they would find the toilet lid down, yet exiting and leaving the toilet lid up! I am pathetically fussy about this because Archie and Jimmy are both fascinated with water and have each taken an accidental dip in the bowl, which is what brings me to the sign.

While cruising my favourite website, Etsy, this summer I found this discrete yet firm "no soliciting" decal and promptly ordered it.  Random foot traffic to my house by people hawking everything from religion to eaves troughs has been remarkably reduced!   This got me thinking about creating a chic little decal for my bathroom that might be an attention-grabber and give folks a gentle reminder....

and so I give you the upstairs commode :-)

Update; day twelve

Hello Friends,

I thought I should write a little update so that everyone can know how I'm doing.  Surgery was long, almost five hours, but everything went well and after one night in the hospital I was discharged.  I am very lucky that my mum and sister live close by and have been an amazing help to me during my recuperation, as well as Robert of course who is my rock.  I've said to a few people it will be quite a while before I am myself again but each day is better than the last and I can see light at the end of the tunnel :-)

Kip and Archie snuggle me back to health

I would like to thank most sincerely all those who left encouraging comments on my blog, send cards, emails, facebook messages, posted about my circumstances or just thought about me in a positive way.  I cannot begin to express how this lifted me during low moments and how deeply touched I was by these expressions of friendship, each and every gesture of kindness has been very precious to me!

love to all,
cat xx
